My ideal whipping...

I don't have regular internet access so I would need an entire day just to READ all the messages and responses to them, let alone download any videos or pics. I've spent too much time checking my email so I'm running low on time. I would need to blog when i can devote ALL of my computer session to this site... from beginning to end.

Anyway, I used to post these REALLY long messages on Stars and Stripes describing certain whipping scenes in movies and even sometimes in books (fiction and non-fiction, including books that some of the movies containing whipping scenes are based on). My ideal fantasy is a really severe military whipping. The scene would include a reading of the sentence, my comrades watching, everyone in their dress uniforms, drums rolling in the background, a sturdy male whipper (maybe in uniform, maybe shirtless). The ceremony is VERY important too many. There would be some blood but no permanent scarring (which is impractical in today's society anyway). Starship Troopers is a nice scene and a VERY high profile one at that. This was a big blockbuster hit though the 2nd halh of the movie was ridiculous.

I could spend ENDLESS time and energy analyzing various whipping scenes but I would have to do that over severeal messages. One of the best and most haunting is the one from Dead Man's Walk (Jonny Lee Miller). The book version is much more brutal... too brutal perhaps but the movie version is excellent, if a bit too harsh. This is a low-profile scene from a not too-well-known TV miniseries but it's so much grittier than Starship Troopers and REALLY puts the "culprit" to the test. I DON'T believe in whipping (as it is to in this scene and in the book) should result in death or coma as this whipping was designed to do, especially in the book. I like the bullwhip used though it does not look as lethal as the whip used on Troopers. Still, 100 lashes is much more severe than 10. I like the presentation of the 3 whips, the first few blows, the sweat flying off Miller's body, the close-up of his face beaded with sweat, the haunting, brooding music in the background, the 2 burly Mexican men, etc... Although this was posted in the military album it's more of a western scene.

Nevertheless, this scene is more of a FANTASY scene for me which I would like to go back in time and experience and then come back to the present with full memory of the experience. I wuld NEED to know that I would live.

More realistic scenes which I would like to experience are the Chuka scene (an excellent scene from a cheesy movie... most movies with whippings, if not all, are not that good, with the exception of the excellent Master and Commander but I wasn't too impressed with the whipping in that particular film). Anyway, the Chuka scene with Michael Cole (?) is excellent from every aspect and he doesn't even loose consciousness... just an honest set of welts, no real harm. This is s scene which I can get off on as the Dead Man's Walk scene makes me too emotional. The culprit is not as pretty but makes it easier to handle.

Another ideal scene is the one from Sharpe's Company in which the innocent Harper bravely receives receives 100 lashes for theft though he was framed. The drum beats muffle the sound of the whip. There should have been intermediate drum taps between blows. Still, the uniforms are great plus the way then are standing in a square to witness the flogging. We get an excellent view of his torso and face which is straining to smile though we barely get to see his back. The flogger is handsome if you look closely, as is Harper (Daragh O'Malley) and he looks great in uniform, as does the whip-wielding Corporal in the Chuka scene. The salute Harper gets from his comrades and his CO is precious and he takes it in great stride despite his innocence.

I discovered this scene quite by luck (serendipity) even before I discovered The whipping Scenes in Movies database or even before I discovered Stars and stripes in which the 3 Sharpe movies with whipping scenes are actually named and shown in pics (which were deleted by Multiply somehow). In the book, Harper even says to his CO that no apology is necessary (at the end when it is found out that he was framed by Hakeswill) and that a set of stripes is sexy to the ladies. The movie version ends on a more serious note in which the CO is repentant.

God, what I wouldn't give to have been in his place. Also, I DO believe that whipping can be therapeutic and I DO feel uncomfortable watching whipping scenes in the presence of others. Ultimately, it's a test of manhood. I have been whipped twice. 200 lashes and 370 lashes the second time with what were supposedly Texas bullwhips but, in reality, probably signal whips. I am at a place in my life where it's hard for me to experience the bite or sting of the lash due to complicated circumstances though I hope that will change.

The Fiercest Heart whipping scene is another all-time favourite of mine. Just read about it in Lash! There was an excellent photo album in S & S which has disappeared. It is a very homoerotic scene with a shirtles whipper offset by the fact that he's being whipped for sleeping w/the CO's wife. Beau gste is another nice military scene with Guy Stockwell.

Well, that's enough for now. I will just conclude by saying that there SHOULD be flogging in the armed forces as long as it is within reason and only involves men. Incedentally, whipping (which is used in westerns and many American scenes and books is sexier sounding than flogging which is used more in UK movies and books and sounds more jucial and officious). I think many men, regardless of sexual orientation, want to experience the whip but don't know how to practically go about it.

It's a good thing to look back on even if you've only experienced it once or twice.
